Dr. Johannes Bohnen
Dr. Johannes Bohnen is an expert in strategic communication, political analysis and campaigning. His thematic expertise covers the areas of digitization, energy, security, citizen participation, Political Branding and Corporate Political Responsibility.
Bohnen worked at a US think tank (CSIS), as a NATO Fellow, as a Fellow at the WEU Institute in Paris, at the Bertelsmann Foundation and for the foreign policy spokesman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group at the Bundestag. He worked as a speechwriter of the Federal Minister for Education and Research and as a spokesman for the CDU Brandenburg. From 2000 to 2001, he headed the Government & Institutions business at PLATO Communication. From 2002 to 2005, he was Managing Director at Scholz & Friends Berlin and established the firm’s PR/Public Affairs arm, Scholz & Friends Agenda, which he headed until 2005. In 2007, he started his own business, Bohnen Kallmorgen & Partner, together with Jan Kallmorgen. The firm became BOHNEN Public Affairs in 2015.
After an apprenticeship in industrial business, Bohnen studied at Harvard, Bonn and at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. (MA in International Relations). He received his Ph.D. from Oxford University.
