In the issue 02/17 of the CSR MAGAZINE, Johannes Bohnen describes how corporate responsibility can be thought of more broadly. CSR falls short in practice because the social is always just one facet of what it is really about: the political. Companies have long been political actors. They should therefore also take a socio-political stance and invest in the foundations of their economic success. After all, legal and planning security, well-trained employees, and an intact infrastructure are in the very own interest of companies. By taking concrete measures in such policy areas, they strengthen the state and thus themselves. Given the decreasing confidence in our free democratic system, it is about time for companies to develop their political brand. The political belongs in the middle of society and thus also within companies. .
